Emile nodded. “We’re going home, Ryder. Back to Winter Hollow where our lives will continue. Today’s events will forever be a memory. Like we talked about before. What happens out here stays here.”

Ryder cracked a larger smile. “Yeah. It’ll stay here. We’re going home.” Emile nodded, fist-bumping Ryder once more before laying down. However, he didn’t realize that Ryder looked away almost immediately, staring off into the distance.
