come on. All I wanted was a kiss.” I whine, crossing my arms across my chest.

“Then get that from him.” She says, tilting her head upward as if she wants me to look behind.

“Huh?” I question, raising my eyebrow.

She walks over to me, “Well Ana, I think your summer just got better.” She announces turning me around.

Or maybe worst.

And then I totally choke on the air.

Because getting out of a car less than 15 feet away from me is Mike.

“Ana!” Yetzi exclaims, patting my back, “Are you okay?” Mike suddenly turns around, now facing me. And so does his friend whatshisname.

Oh, god I need to hide now. I turn around quickly. Should I go hide behind a rock? After what seems like an eternity I finally stop coughing.

“My god, my life sucks!” I complain hiding my face with my hands.

“Ana he’s still looking!” Yetzi hisses, causing me to uncover my face.

“What?” I stammer.

That hiding behind a rock is sounding perfect right now. I can’t believe he’s freaking looking at me! Why? Why now? Maybe I should go slap him.

“Babe!!” Someone shouts.

And before I know it, I’m tackled in a hug.

“Babe!!” I exclaim turning around and facing my number one friend.

Kiauna.

“God, I missed you!” I say, wrapping my arms around her and returning the hug.

Then I see Danielle get out of a red car, I let go of Kiauna and run to her. “Danielle!!” I squeal, wrapping my arms around her.

“Hey,” Danielle replies.

I pull away from her, and take a look at what she’s wearing. A skirt, as usual. And a white hoodie.

“Nice skirt,” I say, gesturing to her white, multi-colored bird skirt.

“Haha very funny.” She retorts, glaring at me slightly.

I grin at her. Then we walk back to where Kiauna and Yetzi are.

“Man, you’re in love with that chick,” I joke, pointing to her Marilyn Monroe shirt.

“Dude, she’s beautiful.” She replies, smiling at me.

I smile back, “People’s this will be the best summer EVER!” They all smile in agreement.

A couple of silent second later, “So what now?” I ask, sitting down on the grass. I put my right earphone, and grin to myself as New Perspective by Panic! At The Disco plays.

“Don’t know, I’m bored.” Kiauna replies siting down on the ground beside me.

I turn to look at where Mike was a couple of moments ago, and I frown when I see he’s not there.

Where could he have gone?

“Guess who I see” Kiauna whispers as she elbows me on the side.

I turn to face her, “Who?” I ask, playing stupid.

“Your man,” She grins at me.

“Huh?”

“Oh, come on. You know who I'm talking about.” “Oh, him.” I mutter, smiling slightly.

“Uh-huh. He's right over there,” She points right across from me.

I follow her gaze and see she's pointing at the entrance, “That's cool,” I say, trying to sound neutral and hide my emotions.

“That's cool." Thats all you have to say?” “Wait, wh-”

“No, 'Ohmygod thats Mike!!'?”

“I do-”

“Or, 'Son of a bitch! Doesn’t Mike look super hawt today?'?” She says in a dreamy voice.

“DUDE!” I exclaim, “I don’t have to act fucking crazy just because I like him.” “Oh really?” She raises her eyebrow.

“Yes, really.” I explain, taking out my other earphone.

“You sure about that? Because from what I remember last time you saw him, which was yesterday, you like freaked out.” She objects, tearing of pieces of grass from the ground.

“I did not freak out.” I say rolling my eyes, and crossing my arms over my chest.

“Yes, you did.” She points an accusing finger at me.

“No I didn’t.”

“Dude, yes you did!” She semi-yells, grabbing my shoulders and shaking me. Not to softly If I may say.

“Fine. I admit it, I did it.” I announce.

“Thank you.” She lets go of me and goes back to killing grass. Well more like tearing pieces of grass.

I uncross my arms and draw circles with my finger on the grass, “But I've changed.”

“How so?” She asks.

“Well okay I haven’t changed...yet.”

“Yet?”

“I need to get over Mike.” I finish sadly.

“When do you plan on doing that?” She asks.

“This summer.” I reply.

“Well that's gonna be hard, considering you're gonna see him everyday.” “I know,” I groan, “Him being here ruined everything.” “This is the first time I hear those words come out of your mouth.” She says, slightly impressed.

“Yeah, well there's a first time for everything.” “True that gurl.”

I smile at her. Yep, I swear to Green Day I'll get over Mike this summer.

Lake Party

Mike's P.O.V.

“Soooooo??” Eric asks as he stretches out on his bunk bed.

“Sooo what?” I question, looking around our little cabin. It's for 4 people. But so far only Eric and I are here. I wonder who our other roommates are? I hope they're not dicks.

“Soo, have you seen any chick that you want yet?” Eric asks me.

“What?, I was supposed to be looking??” I question.

“Dude yes!” Eric exclaims.

“Well I wasn't.”

“Why didn't you?” Eric sits up on his bed, and shoots me a stare.

I don't answer.

“Ohhhh, I know why.” He says smugly.

That catches my attention, “Why?” I ask.

Eric laughs at me.

That pisses me off slightly.

“Dude, tell me what you think.”

“S-S-S-S”

“S what?” I question, already feeling a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.

“S-S-S-S”

“S what?” I yell, tackling him off his bed and into the floor.

That causes Eric to laugh even more.

“Fuck you!” I exclaim.

“What? No! Just fuck Sammy.” Eric chokes out.

And that's when I punch him.

I don't know how it happens or why I even do it. Wait no, I know why I did it, because he brought up Sammy.

But still. I've never punched any of my friends before. And trust me when I say this isn’t the first time they mock me about my crush on Sammy. They've only done it like what? A couple hundred of times? Give or take.

“What the fuck Mike?!” he shouts, pushing me off him, and covering his bloody nose. “Am I bleeding???” he asks worried.

“No..no” I lie, “Eric I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do that. I got carried away, I wasn't thinking, I'm sorry. Fuck, I'm so sorry Eric.”

Eric looks at his hand, “Fuuuck, I am bleeding. Ugh take me to the nurse man.” he says, standing up and causing more blood to flow.

I grab a towel, and hand it to him, “What will you tell them?” He grins at me, “Nosebleed”

I let out a sigh of relief. Now this is why he's my best friend.

He tilts his head backwards and I help him out of the cabin and walk him to the nurses.

*****

“So what happened again?” she asks, getting a damp towel and handing it to Eric.

I turn to look at him, hes laying on the sofa, the damp cloth on his nose. His bleeding has stopped flowing a lot.

“Nose bleed, ma'am.” I say.

“I see,”

“Yeah” I mutter.

Ana, pokes her head from the entrance, her bright blue hair, catching me by surprise. “Hi,” she says to the nurse, smiling.

She really does have a nice smile.

“What do yo need?” She asks.

She walks in, and from the corner of my eye, I see Eric sit up. “Hey there” he says, causing her to turn and see us. She looks at him, then at me. Her eyes seem to linger on me, but then she looks at Eric, and says shyly, “Hi”, a small smile on her lips. The black eyeliner around her eyes, making it hard not to stare at them. Her big brown eyes.

She turns to the nurse, leans in and whispers something. The nurse points to where we are sitting, and walks into a room.

She comes over and stands in the 'waiting area'. I look at Eric and see his nose has completely stopped bleeding. He's looking at her, she must feel his gaze burning holes on her because she turns to him and smiles. He smiles back. His eyes lighting up.

He doesn’t like her right? Does he? Wait, why do I care.

The nurse walks back in and hands her a bag. Then Ana stands up, and as she's walking away Eric shouts “Bye!”. She smiles cutely at him and waves.

As soon as I know she's out of earshot, I pounce on Eric.

“What was that? Do you like her?”

“Whaaaat.” he says nervously, “I don’t like her” I look at him, my eyebrows raised.

“I just said Hi!” he shouts. “Anyway...whats it to ya?” he asks, “It's not like you like her.” Eric stands up, and walks out of the nurses office.

“I don't like her” I murmur.

Ana's P.O.V.

“I cant believe you sent me to get you pads” I groan, as I lay in the bunk, hiding my face with the pillow.

“I needed some!” Kiauna replies, dumping the bag on her bunk. A colorful mess of pads.

I uncover my face and sit up, “Mike was there...”

“Only him?” she asks

“No...there was this other guy, and ohmygod he was really cute. Like super cute. Like the kind of cute that makes you want to kiss them and junk.” I gush to Kiauna.

“Omg. How did he look?”

“Dark brown hair, and pretty green eyes. A really nice smile.” I say smiling as I remember.

Kiauna walks over to my bunk, “Ooo, does someone like him?” she winks at me.

“Not even!” I scoff.

“Did you talk to him?” she asks.

“Yeah, he talked to me first actually. He said 'Hey there' when I walked in, I said hi back then we like smiled at each other and when I was leaving he screamed Bye” I look at Kiauna, and see she's smiling like crazy.

“Dude you're so getting over Mike this summer. This guy likes you.”

“I think I will get over him, but he does not like me” I argue.

“Whats his name? Have you seen him before?”

“Uh, I don’t know his name, and no I have not seen him before today. I don’t think he goes to the high school.”

“Oh, anyway. He said hi to you! And bye!” she screams

“Doesn't mean he likes me...” I say biting my lip.

“Well figure out if he does.” Kiauna stands up and goes over to her space.

“How?” I reach down to my suitcase and unzip it. I open my little top drawer and shove my underwear in it, and socks.

“Lets go out, Yetzi and Danielle are out there already by the lake, lets go for a swim, hopefully he's there. And if he's there, he'll probably go over to you if he likes you. Try to make some small talk.” She smirks in my direction. She unbuttons her jeans and takes them off, and puts on some shorts.

I think it over for a second, “Small problem, I don't know how to swim” I grab a towel from my suitcase and when I look up Kiauna is wearing a tank top and has a towel too. “But fuck it, lets go.” I announce, smiling at her.

“Hell yeah!” she high fives me, and drags me out of the room to the lake.

“I'm scared, what if he actually doesn't like me?” I ask, as we're walking down to the lake.

“Shhh relax Ana, we'll see if he likes you soon. Lets hope hes there. I bet he's 1000 times better than Mike. Mike is kind off a douche bag. Well he was one in middle school. Is he friends with Mike?” she asks.

“I don’t know...Remember I don’t even know his name.”

“Well who gives two shits, you'll figure out his name soon enough. A
