White stars, black sky,
Green cheese moon above,
Sweep the stoop with utmost care,
The Northern Boy’s in love.

Green fields, brown fence,
Dark eyes are aflame.
Lazarus the romantic
Is peddling down the lane.

White stars, black sky,
Wee lass smiles at you.
Write a poem, golden lad,
To capture eyes of blue.


Green fields, brown fence,
The meadow ‘yond awaits,
Wee lass winks and beckons ye’
To take her through the gates.

Brown fence, green fields,
Off and down the way.
A mighty oak; beneath its arms,
You and she shall lay.
