I Float

Somehow, these days, it’s rather strange!
I do not walk the earth.
Instead, my feet above the ground,
I float, my head high in the air!
People look at me in wonder,
this man must be mad, they say,
soon enough, he’ll badly fall,
break his bones and break his neck.
But I smile and keep on floating -
crash, eventually, I shall.
But till then, my head is light,
body weightless, mind adrift.
And if only for a moment,
I enjoy my floating state!
For once I’m down, back on the ground
the memories I’ve kept,
will make my walking state delightful,
for as long as I shall walk!
