After she’s Gone.
His whole life was,
One of devotion,
Devoid, somewhat,
Of all expression.
Now she’s gone,
He’s on his own,
In an empty house,
All on his own.
Truthful words,
Never spoken,
A ruptured tongue,
Never listen.
Expressionless face,
He was always sure,
Double check, triple check,
In search of a cure.
No worries had she,
She was in safe hands,
One thumb, four fingers,
Relaxed her glands.
The inevitable never occurred,
To his peaceful mind,
The young before the old,
The sick before the kind.
All those long hours,
Planning her future,
He never saw tomorrow,
Or what would happen to her.
Go hand in hand,
Do sacrifice and family,
He loved her to the cure,
Still praying to her gently.
Save yourself.
A blood-stained hurricane,
You’re a holocaust waiting to happen,
A holy man who practices voodoo,
Pushing redemption like whores,
Drinking Vodka instead of wine.
I know who you really are,
I see through the hallucinations,
You push upon us,
You wear it so well that they think it’s true,
One more liar at large.
You are the very thing you hate,
Trapped inside you own head,
Pushing yourself further into hell,
Silver bullets can’t save you now,
Nor can death,
Nor can I.
Only you can do that.
The Sun
The sun shines long,
It’s power we can never own,
The damage we have inflicted,
To us it is unbeknown.
The sky will turn grey,
The clouds will grow flat,
Can us simple human beings,
Be much better than that?
The sun may have a future,
But only if we try,
To teach it to be beautiful,
Again, teach birds to fly.
We can teach clouds to be fluffy,
We can teach the sun to set,
And stain the sky with red streaks,
A timeless scene, as of yet!
The sun is the origin,
From which all life springs forth,
From humans, to ants, to
The snow that lies to the north.
The sun is the centre of everything,
The planets revolve around it,
Worshipping it’s fire and might,
In awe of what it emits.
If it is gone then so are we,
And who are we to judge?
We can never harness it’s awesome power,
Else the world will turn to sludge.
The watchful Nanna
I remember her eyes,
They saw my soul,
Cut down my human disguises,
Brittle, like coal.
Eyes so intent,
Skin soft as clay,
Forever she watched us,
On the clear lake play.
I watchful guardian,
She watched us dance,
We waded and swam,
Never giving a second glance.
Always bestowing,
Her watchful skill,
Her voice but a whisper,
Gave us all the biggest thrill.
She was strong as an oak,
Rigid till dark,
Her fingers became twigs,
Skin soft as bark.
But still she watched,
Her soul-seeing eyes,
Swimming with image,
God was nigh.
And then came the masters,
The doctors and the priests,
Never did we know,
That day was her last feast.
Give wine, give bread,
Give back her heart,
But watching for her,
Was a new form of art.
Her eyes may be closed,
But she sees all,
Never hurt, never cry,
Or abuse at all.
She knows, she hears,
She is free from herself,
Celebrate her eyes,
Give to one’s self.
The Spirit of the Community.
The spirit of the community,
Is one that applies to all,
Across the globe, the seven seas,
Beyond great mountains tall.
You see all those faces,
Jostling for position,
Some of joy, some of love,
And some of desperation?
Their grey routines are boring lines,
Across a blank white sheet,
But their daily lives are shattered,
When the community comes to meet.
Different cultures, different norms,
The lines become entwined,
Explosions of colour, a world full of light,
When the people become combined!
Grimaces become smiles,
The old becomes the new,
Birthdays, Christmas, solstice,
Holidays anew!
Whatever the occasion,
The people sing and dance,
Forgetting the past day,
And the flittering wheel of chance.
Fudes are forgotten,
New friends are made,
The eyes of the old,
See through the young’s charade.
But everyday must end,
The sun has to set,
Staining the sky red,
A timeless scene, as of yet!
The joyful grins fade to sleep,
The singing fades to mist,
But that was but the very first holiday,
On the very long list!
The calendar is long,
And new holidays are to come,
When the community come together once more,
But for now, the day is done.
Sleep
Come on Sleep! Where are you tonight?
Why am I still on Earth?
Why do my feet still touch the ground,
Depriving me of my rebirth?
I wish to dream, to seize the chance,
To leave reality behind!
I wish to watch the sun shine through,
The veil that surrounds my mind!
Where are you Sleep? Please come to me!
Set the path for another dimension!
Shake my mind loose from this day and age,
And help me to dream, I might mention.
I want to break free from consciousness,
And shatter the waking world!
To create, to dance, to sing out loud,
And watch formations uncurl.
They twist and spin, again and again,
Flittering this way and that!
Oh, why do I dream of having dreams,
When my world is somewhat flat?
I pray to my God, please let sleep come,
Let Sleep come in the night!
Command it to visit, take over myself,
Let my body take to flight!
Let memories form in front of my eyes,
Over and over again.
A million faces of people I’ve known,
The faces of many men!
Let the past be present, the future be true,
Let my dreams have meaning!
Let me see the people I’ve lost,
Their eyes bright and gleaming!
Let my memories live once more tonight,
Let the truth be told!
Let the dead be risen, but not for long,
Else the memories will turn cold.
I don’t want to follow, or remain in that place,
I still want to see the dawn,
But please come quickly and last till morning,
But please give time to mourn.
For the dead can be awakened by dreams,
The magic of Sleep is real!
Motionless figures, creativity in mind,
For Sleep, it’s a slap-up meal!
He watches, he waits, giving gifts of rest,
But unto me he does not,
For consciousness grips me in my bed,
I think he may have forgot!
Midnight is due, the bell tolls twelve,
Once more the moon if full,
Yet still my eyes are as full as the moon,
Oh, why don’t I feel Sleep’s pull?
And still I sit, awaiting Sleep,
For dreams are hard to make,
Then realisation dawns on me,
A dream about being awake!
Sleep had come, I am thankful for him,
My worried can go away!
I awake to see the sun rise high,
And witness a brand new day!
The Flags of Our Fathers
The flags of our fathers fly,
Each country with it’s own high,
The borders lay strong as stone,
They like to make their presence known,
You cross the border, you’re in a new land,
Strangers and the strange go hand in hand,
The people may be hostile to the weird and the new,
Dance around their protests; make them see it too,
The community’s opinion is one as a whole,
Never let their attitude, upon you, take it’s toll,
Remain the way you are, never let it die,
The town can think whatever it wants, beneath the dusty sky,
The war is in the twilight, now it’s turning cold,
The world is one big community, the young and the old,
Why do we lay borders, have rules and regulations?
Why can’t we be one of love and admiration?
When will the world become it’s own friend?
When will all the suffering end?
Monster
Screams of pain don’t lie,
You choose the monster in the dark,
Even though the devil is nigh,
Soon Lucifer will make his mark,
You stand outside the wrought iron gates,
But clutching at what is yours,
Abandoned you, have all your mates,
Inside, safe from your claws.
Humanity in your eyes has long gone,
You search, but it can’t be found,
Do not dwell on what you’ve done,
It’s time to get to higher ground.
Your life is lost, your family’s dead,
Time cannot be rewound,
Time to move on to other places instead,
And find what cannot be found.
Falling
You and I,
We’re falling,
Beneath us the huge black abyss,
Beckons,
And we’re falling,
Invisible forces,
Manifest between us,
And still, we’re falling,
Above us faces,
Laugh and squint,
But still we’re falling,
We built our love,
On a pedestal of lies,
And now we’re falling,
Our broken hearts,
Heavy as lead,
Fall with us,
Shouts and yells,
Create a strong gauze around us,
We’re falling,
And just as the time,
Is near,
The truth is about,
To be told,
Our thoughts are about,
To become known,
We hit the ground.
